PINETOWN SAPS in conjunction with neighbourhood watches in the area held a four hour crime prevention operation in the Pinetown policing precinct on last week.

Pinetown SAPS Communication Officer Warrant Officer BJ Manqele said the aim of the operation was to address property related crimes in the residential areas as well as to support patrollers who normally work on their own without the supervision of police officers.

“The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects aged 20 and 30 years for possession of cocaine and one foreign national for being in the country illegally.

The station Commander of Pinetown Brigadier Bongi Sithole who was also present during the operation thanked all patrollers who participated in the operation.

She also encouraged them to continue with the good work that they do in their neighbourhood.

The arrested suspects will appear soon at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court.
