ARE you depressed or know someone in need of help, attend Robin Vanderplank’s Depression and Suicide Support Group at 71 Old Main Road Hillcrest every Tuesday from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Vanderplank is a Clinical Psychologist who works with individual and family therapy, encounter group work, trauma counselling, emotional intelligence, and support for adults and children with ADD/ADHD. He is involved in supporting school teachers or pupils and their parents.
Vanderplank is a Level 3 TRE practitioner (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises). This means that he trains people who want to become certified TRE practitioners, including providing in-house training for the staff of NGO's and corporate companies. The staff who are trained as TRE practitioners can then train other staff in order to reduce their stress levels and so improve productivity and relations with their colleagues,.
He also offers private TRE sessions to individuals, which can be included in a counselling session.
Vanderplank is the Regional Representative in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa for ADHASA (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Support Group of Southern Africa). He has completed a Diploma in Nutrition & Diet Theory to further his knowledge by incorporating psychiatric nutrition into the holistic approach he has always preferred to use when working with people. This work is based on understanding the nutritional components of psychological functioning.
Vanderplank writes articles for various publications and is available to give talks at seminars, support groups and events.
