A 26-YEAR-OLD suspect was arrested by the Pinetown Tactical Response Team on Tuesday 5 January at 11.15am in the Pinetown CBD.

Warrant Officer BJ Manqele said members were doing their normal duties in Pinetown when they received information about a man driving a Honda vehicle who was in possession of a firearm.

“Police arrived at the scene and searched the suspect. A CZ pistol with no serial number and four rounds of ammunition was found on the suspect. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.”
