IT was a grim first day of school for many as 10 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate in a collision on the M13 in Kloof on Wednesday.

According to ER24 Spokesperson Pieter Rossouw the collision involved a taxi and a truck.

“The taxi allegedly collided with the back of the truck which was stationary in the emergency lane. ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and found that two people, the driver of the taxi and the front passenger, were entrapped in the taxi and had to extricated using the jaws of life equipment,” he said.

“ER24 treated and transported the two moderately injured patients to King Edward Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were transported to various hospitals including RK Khan Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital for further treatment.”

The accident is being investigated. - Supplied.
