Lace up your walking shoes for a good cause

PUT on your walking shoes, round up friends and colleagues and join the all-night Cansa Relay for Life at Fountains Mall on March 11.

Relay for Life is a fun way to raise funds for the Cancer Association, and keen walkers are invited to make up teams of 10 to 15 and walk in relay for a good cause.

Selina van Deventer, the manager of Cansa in Jeffreys Bay, says some enthusiastic supporters already registered their teams to participate in the fun event.

“We need all the support we can get to make Cansa’s Relay for Life for 2016 an unforgettable event,” says Van Deventer. “So, what are you waiting for? Enter your team now, there are only a few weeks left before this worthy event takes over Fountains Mall.”

According to Van Deventer, the local Relay for Life raises much-needed funds for Cansa’s services in Jeffreys Bay and surrounding areas.

“It is a fun, indoor fundraising event where teams take turns to walk around the track. If, for whatever reason, you are not able to stay the whole night, you are more than welcome to leave.”

The entry fee is R500 per team and can be paid into Cansa’s Absa bank account at account number 1157140058. The reference RFL 2016 JBay followed by your team’s name must be used.

The proof of payment must be emailed to Van Deventer at selinavd@ourtimes.co.za or to Tersia Strydom at tersiastrydom6@gmail.com.

Community members interested in becoming involved in this fun-filled event, can contact Van Deventer at 084 513 6959.
