Situated at the former Plaaswerf in Kareedouw, the Mooiuitzicht Treatment Centre that provides addiction counselling and alcohol and drug treatment opened its doors on April 1 this year.

“Substance abuse is a common denominator in most social ills,” says founder and head of the centre George van der Watt.

“The province has been referring abusers to various treatment centres outside the province, but this centre will see many of our people receive treatment quicker and closer to home.”

According to Van der Watt, who has a degree in psychology, they aim to provide a holistic rehabilitation programme for those with substance abuse and addiction problems.

“Working closely with local hospitals and doctors, we strive to provide the best personal and affordable in-patient addiction treatment available, by focusing on a specific treatment plan in accordance to each individual’s needs, whether these needs are related to drugs, alcohol, over the counter medication, depression or anxiety.

“At Mooiuitzicht we believe in the holistic wellness of all our clients: physiological, psychological, emotional and spiritual.”

The centre boasts a multi-disciplinary team that specialises in the treatment of all drug and alcohol addictions, including dual-diagnosis, gambling and depression. The facilities and en-suite rooms are spacious and welcoming.

For more information, contact Van der Watt at 079 490 5042 or 042 288 0262.
