PIPE failures due to the aging infrastructure have been blamed as the cause of the water shortages around the city.

This was revealed by Msunduzi Municipality spokesperson Thobeka Mafumbatha last Thursday, following the complaints by different areas in the city who are having water shortage problems.

Tafuleni area has been without water since end of October 2020, for Mbumbane it has been over two years, for Willowfontein it has been over six months, for Mbizane area in Henley dam it has been over four years and for Prestbury were also short of water for two days now.
