OVER the past few months, Bluff Meat Supply took the initiative and started collecting old books and old uniforms to recycle them for those in need.
Using their weekly advertisements in the Maritzburg Fever, they requested the public to drop off books and uniforms they no longer use.
Drop-off points were Victoria Road and Market Road branches. The Pietermaritzburg community donated a bakkie load of books.
“We have had an awesome response from the public and thank everyone who donated books for our book drive,” said Mark Lederle, Bluff Meat Supply shareholder.
The books were delivered to Khwezi Primary School on Tuesday, 2 August and Lederle also handed out anti-poaching pamphlets to pupils.
“We will see what we can use for our children and then recycle to other schools that might be able to use what we cannot,” said principal Constance Mbanjwa.
She thanked Bluff Meat Supply and the public for their donations. - Supplied.
