FOUNDED by Michael Cassidy in 1961, local NGO African Enterprise (AE) has come a long way in its quest to preach the gospel message in cities, universities, and schools over the last 51 years.

Founder Cassidy was instrumental, from behind the scenes, in 1994 in terms of enabling the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) to join the elections in the final hour, thus averting a civil war in Natal — a story which he tells of in his book A Witness For Ever.

AE, along with Cassidy, has been involved in many practical projects across Pietermaritzburg and South Africa in terms of compassionate care, social concern, and reconciliation.

Situated at the end of Townbush Valley, AE is tucked away from the city and surrounded by streams, waterfalls, natural bush, and wildlife.

In speaking to partnership and development officer Danica Naidoo, the Maritzburg Fever was informed that the AE seeks to evangelise the cities of Africa through word and deed partnerships with the church.

“Proclaiming the gospel is the heartbeat of AE. We take good news to people wherever they are; from hospitals, schools and homes, to prisons, street corners, nightclubs and stadiums,” said Naidoo.

Naidoo said that the AE is always open to partnering with new businesses and individuals in order to make a difference.

“As we embark on a new season of ministry in word and deed, we invite you to partner with us in making a difference locally and nationally. We need your help, and together we can,”

“No contribution is too small. Thank you very much and God bless you,” added Naidoo.
