HE was the first solo Indian performer to sell out at the prestigious 1 200-seater Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City.

He holds the record of 35 sold-out shows at Sibaya Casino and became the first Indian comic to feature in Zimbabwe and Botswana.

He is the first South African comedian to perform three shows in three cities in Australia and first known comic“in the world” to host a festival of himself — three different shows on three consecutive nights on the same stage.

His popularity was recognised by the international brand of McDonalds, who handpicked him to be the face of their Spicy Burger campaign, which included two television ads, a cinema ad and his image on street billboards across the country.

The only SA comedian to have a charitable foundation; his Karou Cares campaign has raised thousands of rands and helped numerous destitute people.

The outrageous outfits, dark glasses and bling are his trademark.

His style is energetic, dynamic and refreshingly different.

Since his debut in 2009, he has risen to become one of the most commercially successful comics on the SA circuit.

He is the enigmatic and charismatic Karou Charou. He marks his milestone 10 years on stage with a brand-new adult one-man show I AM KAROU!

Music, song, dance, magic, comedy ... it’s like a Bollywood movie … but without subtitles and not as long. An on-stage comedy riot … without the burning tyres.

It’s Karou showing exactly why he has dominated the market for 10 years.

Catch him at Eddels Sports Club on Saturday, September 14.

Tickets are R150 @ Medikist Pharmacy, Eddels Sports Club, Duzi Bar and Quicket.
