THE Community Chest hosted its annual “Dare to be Red” Women’s Day breakfast held at Golden Horse Cansin last Thursda. The morning began with a warm word of welcome from Primi Chetty, chairperson of the Community Chest. Thereafter, over 200 women enjoyed a morning of entertainment, with a scrumptious breakfast, lucky-draw prizes, goodie bags and words of wisdom from three inspirational speakers, namely Slindile Zondi (Abrina Esther House), Bridget Jones (M.D. Pronel Personnel Consultants) and Mala Naidoo (Author of A Flaming Challenge.

Programme director Ingrid Roberts (1MR Events cc), ensured that the proceedings moved along smoothly and to the enjoyment of everyone.

This year’s Dare to be Red celebration also served as a fundraiser for the Community Chest’s pledge to its Community Impact Partner, Abrina Esther House (a place of safety for abused women and children).

The Community Chest appreciates all the sponsors who helped make this event a highlight Special appreciation goes to Willowton Group, Capital Media, Candles & Décor, Sykes Sings, Khaya Luxury Interiors, Clear Cut Glass and Sugar Lump Cakes for their generous sponsorship.

“A beautiful woman draws strength from troubles, smiles during distress and grows stronger with prayers and hope — you are one of them!” The Pietermaritzburg & District Community Chest wished all women a happy Women’s Day. — Supplied.
