MARITZBURG United were left wanting, still in pursuit of their first win of the season in the Premier Soccer League this season after enduring a goalless draw at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

Having only scored one goal in the three previous games prior to Saturday’s match, against log leaders Bidvest Wits, United fans were left with feelings of anxiety over when the next goal would be coming as the side has now gone two games in a row without scoring.

Despite playing at home, the men in blue were, for the most part of the game, the inferior side.

With fans clearly disappointed at their team’s showing, they were left with an uneasy feeling going into half time as United managed to receive more bookings than shots on goal.

Following the match, Coach Fadlu Davids chose to focus on the fact that, despite not scoring any goals, the team still managed to keep their opponents from scoring, saying: “Though we did not score, we still managed to keep a clean sheet, which we have done in the last two games.”
