Get a taste of the finer things in life

THE Pietermaritzburg Food Festival (PMB Food Fest) is a lifestyle event that celebrates South African cuisine by giving people in the food and beverage industries an opportunity to showcase their businesses.

The event will be held on September 23 at the Golden Horse Casino from 10 am to 11 pm.

The festival is the first of its kind to be held in Pietermaritzburg (PMB) and it promises to be a fun filled day for the whole family.

Patrons visiting the festival can expect to be treated to a variety of dishes prepared by professional chefs and caterers. More than 50 stalls are expected to showcase their culinary experience.

The dishes expected to be served include gourmet food, pastries, finger food, traditional dishes, Indian cuisine, pizzas, spit braais, potjiekos, sushi, deserts, meat, vegetarian meals, smoothies and much more.

Organisers have partnered with established beverage companies that will be setting up a special gin, cocktails, craft beer and wine bars to ensure that patrons quench their thirst.

A general beer garden will also be available where people can purchase cool drinks, beers, ciders and spirits.

A pop up fashion and craft village will be set up with more than 20 fashion stalls to provide visitors an unforgettable shopping experience.

If you happen to like trying new recipes, be sure not to miss the food demo kitchen.

Catering for the whole family, the kiddie’s corner will be packed with exciting activities including rides, jumping castles and craft projects for the young ones to take home. Parents will be allowed to leave their kids in the kiddie’s village while they browse around the stalls.

What would an outdoor experience be without music? Music enthusiasts will be glued to the main stage as we bring you top bands, artists and DJ’s that will keep you dancing to the rhythm all day long. Follow Pietermaritzburg Food Festival on Facebook and Instagram @PMBFoodFest for more information.

Another feature to the festival are hospitality suites. These will be located in an exclusive area where companies can entertain clients and customers.

Tickets cost R70 and can be purchased through Computicket or you can visit www.goldenhorse.co.za

The event is organised by Chilla Nathi Concepts in partnership with One Nation, a mother body for Broadway Lifestyle. Both companies are no strangers to the entertainment and lifestyle events scene, both having hosted numerous events in Pietermaritzburg.
