Nurse jailed for 7 years for killing abusive boyfriend

AN abused nurse, who pleaded guilty in the Pietermaritzburg high court to having her cheating partner killed, was sentenced to an effective seven years’ imprisonment.

Nokhono Mpanza (49) of Pietermaritzburg, who was employed at the St Apollinaris Hospital in Bulwer, was sentenced in terms of a plea agreement to 12 years’ imprisonment, five of which was suspended.

She paid the killers R40 000 for murdering Nkosinathi Ngcobo in October 2017 in Bulwer.
