PMB duo to release gospel CD

SMISO Hlatshwayo and Nontokozo Khumalo constitute the two members of Savela, a gospel duo which will release their debut album Udumo in February.

The album is a combination of traditional gospel and a capella, which has resurfaced in popularity through South African favourites The Soil and The Muffins.

This mixture of sounds from what the duo call a “twist of the traditional­ Twelve Apostles in Christ Church” with urban elements, caters for young and old.

Through their album Hlatsh- wayo and Khumalo aim to use their trials and tribulations to encourage others. The album is not only a platform for them to praise God for the obstacles they have overcome, but to uplift those who are facing similar challenges.

Savela hopes that their gift of making music brings forth healing and restoration where hope is needed, to inspire praise in difficult circumstances. The duo also hopes to inspire those who have not yet put their trust in God and to do so rather than putting their trust in people.

The young pair asks the public to purchase original copies of their album in support of South African music as album sales are the livelihood of artists.

The album will be available at Jet Music and Dakota.
