THE highlight on the St Charles College calendar is our annual speech night. The indoor centre was transformed into a beautiful venue, fit for an evening celebrating all that the St Charles College community, and in particular the boys, have achieved over the past year.

The 2015 matric class took pride of place in front of the stage, savouring their final formal function in their schooling career. The guest speaker, vice-chancellor and principal of the University of Pretoria, Professor Cheryl de la Rey, gave an insightful speech, focusing on the world of teaching and education, as well as offering words of wisdom to the matrics regarding life at university.

One of the highlights of the evening was the speech given by 2015 head boy, Dominic Robert. He shared fond memories of his classmates and teachers, as well as conveying his appreciation for his time at St Charles College.

The announcement of the 2016 prefect body was one of the most anticipated items on the programme. Congratulations to those who were selected to be prefects and council leaders, in particular, the 2016 head boy, Calum Nish. The evening concluded with a rousing rendition of the college’s school song.
