UNIVERSITY of KwaZulu-Natal student in Pietermaritzburg campus, Nduduzo Sibiya, has released his first single titled Ubufakazi Bami, which is an African gospel song.
The third-year philosophy, politics and law student told Echo that everyone at his home loves singing and coming from a music background, it was no wonder when he developed a love for it too.
He started singing in 2016 and is passionate about African gospel.
“I am using African melodies for my music to pass on a gospel message.
“To me this is more than music, it is a project to encourage black communities to love and accept them the way they are,” he said, adding he would like to inspire other artists through his music.
Sibiya said his single is only the beginning of greater things to come.
“I also want to research African music and pass on the knowledge that I find to other artists and generations to come,” he said.
