Radio presenter Bongani Mtolo says he wants to thank all his listeners and supporters for the support they have provided him with over the past years.

Mtolo, who hails from Bisley and presents The Drive on East Coast Radio with Mags (Mags Westerhof) from 3 pm to 6 pm every Monday to Friday, will be hosting an event called the Bongani Mtolo Experience on October 25 at Views in Durban.

Speaking to Echo, Mtolo said he launched the Bongani Mtolo Experience in 2018 as a way of giving back to his listeners.

During this experience, Mtolo’s listeners get a chance to spend a day with him.

“I go into different places with the aim of trying to reach all my listeners and to spend time with them.

“When the Bongani Mtolo Experience started last year, I wanted to create an event where people who have been part of my journey, who listen to the show, can actually hang out with me. It’s a way of saying thank you.

“I have won the best drive presenter in South Africa at the Liberty Radio Awards two years in a row and that is because of my amazing listeners who have always been supportive. So, the Bongani Mtolo Experience is a way for me to give back,” he said.

He revealed that he will also be coming to Pietermaritzburg in November but he is still going to confirm the venue.

Mtolo said he has been passionate about radio from a young age.

“When I was young I met Bhodloza Nzimande, who was with Ukhozi FM at the time, and that sparked my interest. It has then always been my dream to be on radio,” ended Mtolo.
