IN the past two weeks I have had small items “removed” from my purchases after paying for them at the till by packers at two major outlets.
In the first instance I had put a packet of cotton buds, among other items, in my trolley, but when I got home they were nowhere to be found.
In the second instance I had put in a roll-on deodorant in my trolley, again among other items, but when I got home it too was nowhere to be found. In both instances I searched my boot thinking that they might have somehow “fallen” out, but they had not.
So shoppers, when at the till, watch the packers closely because small items, like mine, can quickly be put beneath the packets or the cloth or behind the plastic bags that normally lie at the end of the counter, and then removed once you’ve left.
