Zikalala pays tribute to the class of Covid-hit 2020

KWAZULU-NATAL Premier Sihle Zikalala saluted the matric class of 2020 and their teachers.

β€œThe mountains you have climbed, the rivers you have crossed. As the government and KZN population we pay tribute to you and all of those who unfortunately could not be here today,” said Zikalala.

He said the class of 2020 were the first class in history to sit for their exams during the Covid-19 pandemic, which highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of the educational system. β€œ... Covid brought with it fear and anxiety in March and while we know that education changes lives, Covid changed education drastically.”
