Alleged murder suspect to appear in court

A murder docket has been opened following the arrest of a 40-year-old man in connection with the discovery of a body of a 39-year-old female in her motor vehicle on Friday, September 17.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe, the vehicle in question was parked in a yard in New Payne, Mthatha.

"The victim sustained several bullet wounds and the firearm suspected to have been used in the incident has been confiscated,” said Matola-Mvanyashe.

The motive of the murder is still unknown, with the suspect due to appear in the Mthatha Magistrate court on Monday, September 20.
