NELSON Mandela Bay’s major festive season event, known as the Annual Summer Basketball and Entertainment Series, is set to entertain thousands of residents on holiday and visitors to the region from this Sunday, December 16 to December 26 and again on January 1, 2019.

This event, which enters its 23rd consecutive year this summer season, is used as a platform aimed at promoting the game of basketball and sport in general.

According to the event coordinator, Sibongile Fondini, they invite teams to take part in the fun-filled major sports programme that kicks off at Kings Beach on Sunday.

Fondini stated that the tournament was free of charge and each region should allow their female teams to take part as well.

“We look forward to hosting a big event that will entertain the visitors and holidaymakers in our region. The tournament prizes include R1 500, a trophy and gold medals for the winners, while the runners-up go home with silver medals. Furthermore, four individual all-stars and individual most valuable player will get prizes in both the male and female categories.”

Interested teams can contact Fondini for more information at 082 361 4516 or 041 462 0077.
