THE I Do! Bridal Expo, presented by Africanos, set the tone as the premium bridal expo in the Eastern Cape last weekend.
Held at the Boardwalk Exhibition Centre last week Saturday, the event welcomed thousands of brides-to-be at the annual specialised expo with four fabulous daily fashion shows.
Event director Linda Harwood, involved in the exhibition market for over 20 years, said the event is a must-see for brides to be in the planning stages of their wedding, “To assist them with comparing service providers in a comfortable environment with so many major decisions to be made.”
Nearly 80 exhibitors showed wedding services and supplies, ranging from innovative stationery, designer outfits for the bridal party, a wide range of beautiful venues, delicious catering, versatile photographers, impressive decor and more.
The highlight of the weekend was the announcement of the richest wedding competition in SA, I Do! Want to Win a Wedding Competition, at Africanos Country Estate, worth over R270 000.
Three finalists were drawn on Saturday afternoon and three on Sunday afternoon.
With hundreds of receptive spectators cheering them on, the final round ended with two finalists selecting a key each to open the winning box.
Renecia Wilson (26) of Algoa Park, was overwhelmed when her key turned the lock to secure the wedding of her dreams.
She plans to marry her partner, Nigel Kayser (27) of Bloemendal, in October this year.
In addition to the I Do Want to Win a Wedding Competition, many exhibitors offered prizes and special expo-only specials during the two-day expo.
