Learners benefit from awareness campaign

The IIE’s Varsity College PE’s VC Cares committee, in collaboration with The IIE School of Education, held the toothbrush and toothpaste collection during February. Howell said they did a congenital heart awareness campaign and highlighted how gum disease and heart disease are linked. ‘This then led to our community engagement initiative of donating toothpaste and toothbrushes to the 43 Grade R learners and educating them about the importance of brushing their teeth,’ she added.
