EP125 Celebrations will host their first ever fun golf day on February 23 at The Little Walmer Golf Club.

With a beach theme to add to the fun, the day will be strictly no serious golfing.

About 124 players, including several rugby legends, are expected to participate on the day.

EP125 Celebrations was formed in early 2016 with the purpose of creating a platform where like-minded rugby players and supporters can socialise, generate a volunteer support group, get involved with the communities and breed and rebuild the support for rugby in the Eastern Province.

EP Legends and rugby followers such as Danie Gerber, Jaco Kirsten, Willie Els, Adri Geldenhuys, Andre Gerber, Robert Blignault, Basil de Coning and China Bell have poured their support behind the EP 125 Celebrations initiative.

The EP125 Celebrations initiative aims to host three premier events every year: a golf day in February, a social function in June and a special event in October.

“By participating in the event, we are also supporting a good cause which is why the EP125 Celebrations initiative was formed,” said Adri Geldenhuys, former EP Rugby player and committee member.

Companies are invited to participate in the day by either being a sponsor or purchasing a 4-ball for R1200. The format is a 4-Ball American Scramble, 9 holes only.

Entry fees cover green fees, shootout and prize-giving dinner. There will also be great prizes up for grabs.

“The preparations are going well and the support from former EP players and companies have been overwhelming. There will be a lot of entertainment during the day,” said organiser Olga Williams.

Former EP player Basil de Coning will MC the prize-giving in the evening.
