Tafelsig: On Sunday 18 March at 13:30, Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention officers were conducting crime prevention duties when they received a tip-off about liquor sales at a Mosterhoek Street home. On arrival at the scene, officers found a suspect alone in the house and found a large number of beers in a freezer and crates in one of the bedrooms. Police confiscated 189 (750ml) beers, 48 (660ml) ciders and 18 empty crates from the suspect. A 14-year-old boy was arrested and faces charges of dealing in liquor.

Woodlands: On Sunday 18 March at 17:30, officers attached to the Lentegeur Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 32-year-old man in Faraday Court. Officers saw the man acting suspiciously and searched him. They found 31 units of heroin in his possessionÂ.

Lentegeur: Police held a joint operation with Law Enforcement, Metro Police and the Counterfeit Goods team in the Lentegeur precinct on Friday 16 March with the focus on robbery patrols, stop-and-searches and business licence compliance checks at spaza shops. During the operation two men were arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of heroin respectively. A number of shops were also fined for operating a business without a valid business licence. Fines issued totalled more than R13 000.

Mnandi Beach: Police arrested a man in connection with murder, following the discovery of a body at the beach. On Sunday 11 March at 09:00 officers were called to Mnandi Beach, Rocklands where the body of an unknown man was found with multiple stab wounds to the body and head. A 54-years-old man was arrested on Wednesday 14 March at 13:30.
