Donations needed to pay teacher wages

Southgate and Syce Acoustics are appealing to the public for donations. They will be hosting an event to raise funds for Heathfield High School at the school hall on Thursday 26 April.

According to the organiser, the school is in dire need of an amount of R18 000 by the end of May in order to keep some of its staff members. They say that due to financial problems, the school can no longer afford to pay wages, putting at risk the education of about 62 learners who are likely to be cramped into one classroom should the amount not be available.

Guests can expect to be entertained by local DJs and food will be on sale.
