We all by now understand the drought crisis and should endeavour to save water as much as we can.
Grey water can be used for so many things, which we previously used clean drinking water for.
My concern is that the City of Cape Town continues to increase the water restriction level – at the risk of becoming a smelly and disease-stricken Western Cape.
What has happened to the reservoirs that are available on Table Mountain, but more importantly, why is desalination not implemented?
I have heard numerous discussions on desalination, and it is not as costly as what was previously estimated. Should the City not consider this, and stop implementing stricter restrictions? Earlier this year (another) Nelson Mandela statue was considered, yet the water restriction was not the main focus? Let’s see if someone eventually makes the right decision.
