Feeding the local need

The New Horizon Neighbourhood Watch fed 200 people a special meal including Christmas cakes, cookies and party packets for the children over the festive season.

With the global Covid-19 pandemic leaving many in times of hardship, loss and economic distress, the watch wanted to ensure locals had a good meal and treats to help celebrate Christmas.

“Apart from wishing all a glorious and blessed Christmas, we focused on handing out ‘Blow Whistle’ packs again for the festive season. Due to the second wave, we too did Covid-19 awareness by handing out masks to each person as well,” says watch treasurer Saadiqah Ganief.

“Health and safety is important to us, and is a social responsibility. We hope to be able to expand even more in 2021, God willing, and bless more community residents with our interactive social programmes.”
