Police arrested a 41-year-old Westridge man on Sunday 10 November after he was found in possession of a large quantity of ammunition.
At 17:20, officers attached to the Mitchell’s Plain crime prevention unit (CPU) were busy with crime prevention patrols when they executed a search warrant at a house in Farrier Street.
When police searched the house, they found cartridges (240) and 9mm magazines (15) and a 9mm Vector SP1 firearm.
The suspect faces charges of possession of more than 200 rounds of ammunition of particular calibre in private collection without written authorisation.
