Wynberg police are looking for two suspects who robbed a couple in the early hours of Thursday 4 August.
The incident happened in Durban Road at about 01:00.
Captain Ntomboxolo Nqunqeka says the complainant was sleeping when she heard the dog barking.
“She went to investigate, and when she opened the front door, she saw two men lifting up the gate and shouted at them. They came running at her and one of them picked up a spade and chased her to the house. She tried to close the door, but it was too late. Her boyfriend was inside the house as well and they both ran into the bedroom,” she says.
“The suspects grabbed a handbag to the value of R1 200 and ran to the complainant’s car. While they were trying to start the vehicle, the woman’s boyfriend grabbed the same spade, chased them and smashed the windscreen of the vehicle, but they drove off with the white Daihatsu Terios with registration number CA 652 050,” says Nqunqeka.
