The Athlone Cultural Hub Film Archive with Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS) are celebrating 50 years since the release of the landmark Cuban film, Memories of Underdevelopment.
The film is directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea.
The movie is hailed as one of the greatest movies ever made and is still widely screened at festivals around the world.
For Cuba this is the golden anniversary of one of the nation’s best regarded films.
A screening of the movie will take place at the Athlone Culture Hub in Lawrence Road, Athlone, on Sunday 15 April at 15:00 sharp.
