THE life of Burry Stander, the late Olympian cyclist, was celebrated on what would have been his 30th birthday at Umtentweni last Saturday.
Stander died in January 2013 when he collided with a taxi while cycling in Shelly Beach.
The day started with a fun relay ride and run/walk at Burry Stander Bike Park followed by a performance by Ian Jones in the afternoon. Burry’s mother Mandie said another event will be held at Lake Eland on November 12.
