Church needs donations for new sound system

THE Name of God Church in Murchison is asking the community, churches and businesses to assist with donations that will go towards buying a new sound system.

Church founder, Bishop F.S. Madlala, said the church used to have a sound system, but it was stolen.

“On 2 February, 2015 our church was broken into and all our musical instruments were stolen. We opened a case with the police hoping they would be recovered, but luck was not on our side,” said Madlala.

A keyboard, speakers, amplifier, microphones and stands were stolen.

He said the church has raised funds to replace some of the the equipment, but not enough as the congregation and the church is small.

Madlala feels the youth from his church have lost interest in coming to church as there is no longer any music.

He said the church is a place where the youth are changed and given hope, especially unemployed youth.

“Church is the one place that keeps them busy and takes them away from the streets and social ills.”

On behalf of the congregation Madlala asks that if anyone can donate towards replacing the instruments, they must phone him on 073 574 5610.
