BUSINESSES, families and organisations are invited to the first Ekasi Family Fun Day at Gamalakhe TB Molefe sports grounds on 7 February from 1pm until late.
“The aim of the day is to unite the community in fighting racism and live peacefully,” said Carisca Van Vuuren, an organising committee member.
The day will compromise soccer games where organisations will be asked to form multiracial teams with male and female players.
Each team should have 20 members - 11 players, six reserves and three technical members.
“Teams will be playing a 30-minute match which means everyone qualifies to be a member, even your grandfather, who only knows how to kick the ball in the right direction,” said Van Vuuren.
Teams are asked to register before the day.
Local artists will also entertain and car fanatics and South Coast car club will be given an area where they can show off their special vehicles.
The day will also give vendors and small businesses an area for their stands from which they can sell their goods.
“Vendors who want to be part of the day must contact the organisers before the time as space is limited.
The day accommodates all ages as there will be a Kiddies Zone where the little ones can enjoy games, jumping castles, face painting, and more,” said Van Vuuren.
