CAPE Town artists’ mentorship organisation, Your Arts Ambassadors, have expanded to the South Coast and will be launching their first talent search competition at Rest Haven Holiday Chalets & Conference Centres in Shelly Beach next Saturday September 16.
Auditions for their programme “KZN’s Got Talent” will start from 4pm and artists are invited to watch the event. The show will feature rapper Q-rock, who the winning artist will get to tour with for year as part of their prize.
“We mentor artists from underprivileged backgrounds and try to grow their talent into something productive. This helps turn them away from things like drug and alcohol abuse as many are unemployed and easily turn to these things for comfort,” said Your Arts Ambassadors chairman Peter Fourie. He said the organisation also works with “My Child has Cancer”, an organisation that assists families to deal with cancer patients.
To register as a artist download the application form at www.yourartsambassadors.co.za. Tickets for the public are on sale at R60 each. The first 30 tickets sold get one additional complimentary ticket. Contact Fourie on 073 425 3883 for more information.
