THE police in Uitenhage are investigating a case of armed robbery after a 19-year-old cyclist was allegedly robbed of his expensive bicycle.

According to police information, the incident happened on Wednesday, September 9 at about 10:45, whilst the victim was cycling on the R334 Motherwell Road.

“The chain of the bicycle fell off. Whilst the cyclist was busy fixing the chain, he noticed a white Nissan 1400 bakkie stopped in front of him,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart.
