DP cricket starts season on high note

Daniel Pienaar first cricket team started the year on a high note with a successful tour to Graaff-Reinet as well as winning the Brandwag six-a-side tournament.

After winning all their matches in the preliminary rounds, DP A played Brandwag A in the 1st semi final and DP B played Brandwag B in the 2nd semi final at the Brandwag six-a-side tournament.

DP A 101/0: Morné Labuschagne 67*, Heinrich Leibbrandt 31*. Brandwag A 54/4. Luqmaan Sirkhotte 1 over 2 wickets 9 runs. DP won by 47 runs.

DP B 72/2: Ryan Oliphant 39, Brandwag B 71/2. Riandré van As 1 over 2 wickets 8 runs. DP won by 1 run.

In the final DP A played DP B.

DP A 125/3: Heinrich Leibbrandt 64, UB Timol 42

DP B 63 all out. Heinrich Leibbrandt 1 over 2 wickets 5 runs. DP A won by 62 runs.

DP A player of the tournament was Morné Labuschagne and DP B player of the tournament was Ryan Oliphant.
