Hat trick for Tigers against Brandwag

Daniel Pienaar Tigers did it again. For the third year running the first cricket team held their own and beat Brandwag by no fewer than 6 wickets.

This exciting game played last Saturday on Brandwag’s field was over before lunchtime. Heinrich Leibbrandt was the best Daniel Pienaar batsman with 19 runs and Dylan le Roux was outstanding with the ball. His figures read 5 wickets for 23 runs in 7.4 overs. Brandwag was dismissed for 85 runs in the 25th over while the Tigers needed only 17 overs to reach this target. The u/15A went down to Brandwag by 6 wickets.

Daniel Pienaar is proud of their second and u/14A teams who managed to pull off victories against Brandwag on Saturday too. In the 2nd team match Daniel Pienaar managed to score 190 runs while Brandwag was dismissed for 83 runs. Uthmaan Sirkhotte excelled with the ball – his figures read 4 wickets for 17 runs in 7 overs. Robert de Beer was the highest scoring batsman with 42 runs. Special mention has to be made of the u/14A team which beat Brandwag by 8 wickets! Here the best bowler was Johan van Zyl with 3 wickets for 2 runs in 2 overs. The best batsmen were Cameron Williams (50 not out) and Johan van Zyl (36 not out).
