Roses, food and fellowship at fayre

EXQUISITE roses, good food and friendly locals will be at the order of the day during Saturday’s annual Addo Rose Fayre which will be held at the Valentine Hall in the scenic Sundays River Valley.

All of the beautiful roses and décor in the renowned Rose Café come from the gardens of the local ladies, who spend hours cultivating and celebrating these magnificent flowers.

These are the same local ladies that produce all of the delicious food and treats that will be served on the day. Even the artwork and rose wall will be created by a local artist.

There will be live soulful and easy listening music performed by Belle and the Beard. A local pianist, Freddie, will accompany Kobus and Gerhard as they belt out some lunchtime songs too.

For the kiddies there will be a special corner to ensure the younger visitors are entertained too.

Other features of the day include Floradale Nursery showcasing plants and flowers, Bridge Street Brewery with its craft beers, gin and very own brandy, Habata Wines and Hermitage House’s Farmers’ Market.

There will also be a Garden Tour by bus, to three local beautifully different gardens. It is limited to 30 people and Nita Tayler-Smith is the guide. To book call 072 791 9744.

This day of fun is perfect for the whole family. The gates will be open from 09:00 to 14:00 and parking is free. Entrance to the fayre is R50 per person whilst primary children may enter at no cost.
