THE Uitenhage SPCA is looking for an affordable premises in the central business district of Uitenhage to open a charity shop with the aim to contribute financially to the association which serves the whole of Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounding areas.

“We are desperately looking for a little shop, either in Durban or Caledon Streets, to start our own charity shop,” said Deirdre Swift, chairperson of the Uitenhage SPCA.

“Basically, instead of just having our Jumble Sale every second Sunday at the kennels, which is just eight hours a month, we would much rather open a little shop, selling items five or six days a week. This will obviously generate a much larger income which in return will financially help the SPCA tremendously.
