Twenty-one children were injured when a taxi they were travelling in collided with a car in Carletonville on Monday morning.
It is understood that the children were on their way to school when the accident happened.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene on Reinecke Street and found both vehicles on the side of the road, with passengers already outside and seated on the side of the road.
"Medics assessed the patients and found that 21 children, aged between 12 and 18, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
No serious injuries or fatalities were reported, he said.
The injured passengers were treated for their injuries and then taken to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.
Circumstances surrounding the accident were not yet known and local authorities were investigating.
