Durban – Twenty-five children were hospitalised on Friday after a pupil allegedly discharged a teargas canister in the classroom of a Cato Manor school, paramedics said.
"We found multiple children crying and in distress. More ambulances were called to assist with the number of patients that had been affected," Rescuecare spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said.
The children were stabilised and taken to various Durban hospitals.
Jamieson said police were on the scene and would investigate the matter.
