Durban - Six men arrested for alleged rhino poaching will appear in the KwaMsane Magistrate's Court next Tuesday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the South African Police Service said one suspect was arrested on Saturday outside the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve.

The suspect led investigators to another five suspects at a bed and breakfast in Nongoma.

The group made their first appearance in court on Tuesday.

A rifle, several rounds of ammunition, knives, a silencer and rain coats were confiscated at the bed and breakfast.

The rifle is being tested to establish whether it was used to commit other crimes.

The men, aged between 30 and 40 years, are charged with the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and conspiracy to poach rhino.
