ANC heavyweights have strongly supported the party's resolution on compromised party leaders stepping aside as those backing President Cyril Ramaphosa and ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule prepare for the final showdown on Tuesday.

This as Magashule's supporters are already said to be preparing to hit back when the final day of deliberations resume at 09:00.
