The ANC’s inability to deal with corruption and the DA’s race policy blunders have set the bar low and made it easy for new political entrants to stamp their authority against tougher opponents.

With next year’s local government elections on the horizon, success for new political parties - like Herman Mashaba’s Action SA and Mmusi Maimane’s One SA Movement - will boost their fortunes in future elections.
