President Cyril Ramaphosa has set the ANC nine tasks for the year, including that the party should "continue to improve and modernise" its core organisational systems and become financially sustainable.

This was contained in the party's 8 January statement endorsed by the national executive committee (NEC) and delivered by Ramaphosa on a livestream via television and the ANC's electronic communications channels due to the restrictions on gatherings imposed by the current Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
