Durban - A seven-year-old boy died in his sister's arms after an alleged hit-and-run on Fannin road in Pinetown on Monday afternoon.

ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said paramedics found the sister holding the boy.

The boy was surrounded by a group of people at the time, Siddall said.

"The boy had sustained serious injuries and was immediately given advanced life support. After cardiopulmonary resuscitation, nothing more could be done for the boy and unfortunately, he was declared dead before paramedics could arrive at R.K.Khan Hospital."
