Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma must execute a massive Cabinet reshuffle, ANC Youth League leader Collen Maine said on Friday.
"There are ministers who we want him to reshuffle and we will approach him. We want to see massive reshuffling," he told News24.
"There are a number of ministers who have to go because we don't owe them anything. The ANC does not owe them anything."
Maine said the youth league wanted to meet Zuma to "tell him who we think should be reshuffled".
Speculation is rife that there will be another Cabinet reshuffle following the axing of former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.
It has been reported that Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe and Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies might be in the firing line.
On Wednesday, Zuma replaced Nene with ANC backbencher David van Rooyen.
Maine said a Cabinet reshuffle should be about strengthening government and was part of the president's powers.
"In traditional institutions you don't get to be removed because you [are] born being a chief and, when you die, you pass [that] on to your family.
Deployment in the ANC does not work like that and... none of us [is] immune from reshuffling," Maine said.
