A four-year-old boy lost his life after he allegedly fell from his family's apartment on the 6th floor in Cape Town on Wednesday.

It is believed the little boy was under the care of his 25-year-old uncle when the accident happened in Wynberg around 09:20, said police.

The little boy's parents were not at home at the time.Police spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut said an inquest has been opened.
